Message From The President
Did you ever think that you would live to see the year 2024? There are some of our friends and family didn’t quite get there. We lost Leona Bishop, Paula Waitt and Ray Young. We can only remember the good times that they gave us and move on with our lives as best that we can. The Pushrods of Hoquiam are a big part of my family that I will help where I can and enjoy the stories that are told around the table. A brief recap of 2023 for you: We found a new direction for the Pushrods when we no longer had the car shows at the beach. They were a good run that benefited our club. That forced us to find a new way to give us the satisfaction of controlling our own destiny by creating a new Pushrods car show in downtown Hoquiam. For sure there are growing pains that we are working through, but each year we are getting bigger and better. The Pushrods had a bunch of new members this year to bring our membership to 72.
The Christmas party this year was overall a success. We will change it up a little for next year. The Elks did a great job helping, the pot luck worked out, the food was really good, the gift idea needs to be tweaked. Thanks to everyone for helping. Our list of organizations and others that we donate to are very happy. I think that year to date, this club has donated over $150 thousand dollars into our community. Something to be proud of. This coming year we have a 1987 Yamaha 50cc scooter that has 770 miles on it and is pristine condition that the club will sell tickets at our events and give away at our Hot Rods in Hoquiam show.
