Message from the President Aug 2026
Car Show Season Is Here!
Car show season is here, and there are plenty of options to choose from!
As for us, our Hot Rods in Hoquiam show was a success in terms of happy people and a good time. The downside was the weather forecast calling for RAIN. That kept many car enthusiasts from joining our merry little group.
Despite the weather, the club still made a profit, thanks to our generous donors.
Our cruise-in at Five Star Motors was another low-key success. Twenty-three cars showed up and received a nice reception in the showroom. They took pictures of all the participants and were very happy with the turnout. We’ll try to do it again in the fall.
Helping a Fellow Pushrod
Unfortunately, some bad news has affected our secretary, Larry Stott, and his wife. A house fire destroyed pretty much everything they owned.
At our board meeting, the club decided to donate $2,000 to Larry to help with rebuilding his home.
If you have the time and skills to help with the rebuilding effort, please give Larry a call.
Our thoughts are with Larry and his wife as they work through this difficult time.
Membership Packet
A big thank-you to Patty Rager for developing a new membership packet. Great job, Patty!
It has already helped bring in one or two new members.

Upcoming Garage Visit
Don’t forget that on the last Sunday of this month, we’ll be visiting Okie Thompson’s garage and museum.
Sunday, July 26, from noon to 2:00 PM
The club will provide hot dogs and watermelon for lunch.
Location:
67 W. Wishkah Road
Aberdeen, WA
Come enjoy the cars, the museum, and some good company!
August Events
August is a busy month. We’ve been invited to several functions, including:
- August 4: National Night Out in Cosmopolis
- August 8: Ocean Shores Elks Car Show
We hope to see plenty of Pushrods out supporting these events!
Joke Corner
We’ve all heard that our man Tony is a man about town.
He recently met a young lady for lunch so they could get to know each other a little better. She asked Tony if he preferred boxers or briefs.
He replied, “It Depends.”
She abruptly left the building!
