Message from the President Nov 2026
Fellow Pushrodders,
The 2026 car season is just about finished for another year. It wasn’t a bad summer, although it could have been better.
This year, we lost some friends and family members who we miss and continue to think about. As you know, life goes on as we deal with sadness, pain, and the ways these events change our lives. Always remember that the Pushrods are a family, here to help ease your troubles and support one another.
Club Officer Changes
There have been a few changes to our officer positions.
Ralph Cook is stepping down as treasurer due to more pressing family obligations. Patty Rager will be taking over as our new treasurer.
Jacob Parkins has also had to step down as our Public Relations Officer due to work commitments. I’m taking over my old spot as the new PR guy.
I’m always looking for a little help, so if you’re interested in getting involved, let me know!
Lunch, Fellowship & Community Support
Our last Pushrod lunch at the Lighthouse Drive-In had 17 members show up. It was really nice to see that kind of turnout!
At our recent board meeting, we were informed that a very obnoxious individual had destroyed one of the city’s large flowerpots that we had purchased and placed in front of Gil’s shop.
The board decided to donate $400 to the city beautification group to help replace the flowerpot and fill it with dirt and flowers.
It’s unfortunate that something like this happened, but we’re happy to help keep our community looking good.
Important Meeting Location Change
Starting this month, our monthly business meetings will be held upstairs at the Hoquiam Elks building.
- When: First Wednesday of each month
- Time: 6:30 PM
- Location: Upstairs at the Hoquiam Elks
This will give us some peace, quiet, and privacy without public interference.
When you enter the building, instead of going straight into the meeting hall, head up the stairs to the meeting room.
Lending a Helping Hand
If any member has some last-minute yard work or cleanup that needs to be done before the weather really changes, let me know. We can organize a little work party and help each other out.
The buildup for our February charity auction is also starting this month. There’s lots to do, and we’ll need plenty of helping hands to make it happen!
Christmas Party & Toy Drive
Monica has started organizing our Christmas party, and calls are going out to get your meal selections.
Your choices are:
- Prime rib
- Salmon
The evening will also include a potluck. Members will be assigned a food category to bring:
- Salads
- Entrées
- Desserts
- Appetizers
If you’re one of our senior members who doesn’t cook, let Monica know. You won’t have to worry about bringing anything!
And don’t forget our Christmas toy drive for the kids! We’re asking everyone to bring two toys: one for a boy and one for a girl.
Let’s make Christmas a little brighter for some local children.
A Little Car News!
Here’s a bit of news for all you car buffs.
Sometimes it isn’t what you know, but who you know, being in the right place, and being there at the right time that makes good things happen.
Jim Daly has acquired a 1936 Ford 5-Window Deluxe Coupe as his next project!
Be sure to ask him about it. Maybe you can offer a little help or advice along the way. Neat car!
