The Push Rods of Hoquiam

The Push Rods of Hoquiam are a harbor legend. The car club was formed in 1953 by a group of ten young car enthusiasts. They started out having meetings in an old Quonset hut with everyone helping each other build and work on their cars. A logo for the club was patterned after a member’s 1932 Ford coupe that kept breaking down and had to be pushed back home. Thus. The Push Rods were born. The club is celebrating 73 years together this year with a couple original members still active.
The Push Rods of Hoquiam are proud to have four members that are in the Washington Hot Rod Hall of Fame. The club is known throughout the region for their charity work and community involvement.
They are always open to involving new members, young and old, men and women. The current roster
is pushing 75 members.

The Push Rods have evolved into a community-minded social / service club that donates back to many causes in the Grays Harbor area. Food bank, Meals on Wheels, Cancer society, Paws, Grays Harbor College scholarships, Hoquiam Police and Fire Departments, Boots for Bears, Christmas toy drive and many others.
They are holding their popular “Charity Auction” on February 15th at the Hoquiam Elks lodge. The event will start at 11 am and end at 3 pm. The rules are simple. If you see an item that is up for auction, you bid as many times as you want with each bid costing you a dollar. Numbers are assigned to each bid. After all bids are taken, a number is drawn and the bidder with that number wins. It’s fast and fun with. lots of action. Food and drinks will be served by the Elks Lodge. This year the club will add a “REWARD Club T-Shirt” for every auction item exceeding $100 winner. Everyone is invited to attend. Come and have some fun for a few hours. Bid and spend whatever you feel good about. There is always a diverse exciting selection of items.

Other events already planned for 2026 include the annual SPAGHETTI FEED in April and the popular Show – N – Shine @ Tractor Supply (May 16) plus the big Hot Rods In Hoquiam show on Friday and Saturday (June 26/27) with a free “Illusions of Elvis” concert on Friday evening.

The business community has always supported the Push Rods of Hoquiam to give back to our communities. We are forever grateful for their support.
